I have discovered an excellent site with free e-books in English called english-e-books.net. You can find, download or read adapted versions of many stories in English. They are grouped into levels, from Elementary to Advanced. There are different options for the formats you can download them, like a word document, pdf and there are many audio files you can also download, so you can both read and listen to the stories as audiobooks, too.
